Judco Manufacturing was founded in 1972 when its founders created a push button switch that was durable, inexpensive and simple in design. That first switch design, with a unique patented feature, launched the company into a niche market that expanded from initial sales in flashlight applications to multiple consumer uses. Judco was truly a startup, funded by very small investments and a wealth of passion and determination. Judco officially opened for business in January 1975 after receiving a significant order from Rayovac, a global flashlight manufacturer. Rayovac had been looking for a reliable, low-cost switch for their flashlights, and the economical yet highly durable Judco product met their needs precisely. Judco, which had no factory at the time, began delivering switches that were locally manufactured by a small jewelry manufacturing company, with the parts outsourced to other specialty manufacturers. Soon thereafter, Judco hired its first employees to produce switches to meet production requirements. This initial facility consisted of an approximately 500 square foot office, which grew to 2,000 square feet within the first year. Soon after, all manufacturing assembly was done in-house, including injection molding and wire processing. Judcos mission has always been to provide high quality products at low prices, with a commitment to fast delivery and the ability to modify its basic switches to meet the unique requirements of its customers. From this small manufacturing facility, it serves major OEM markets such as: flashlights, computers, appliances, emergency lights and a wide variety of consumer products.
