GC Electronics
GC Electronics has been serving the electrical and electronics distribution industry for over 75 years. Founded in 1930 in Rockford, Illinois by Stanley B. Valiulis and Richard Ellis as the "General Cement Manufacturing Company" producing General Service Cement Part No. 30-2 in Stanleys garage. The 30-2 was used to repair phonograph and radio cases and repair torn speaker cones. The "General Cement Manufacturing Company" then began producing custom cements, lubricants and cleaners to support the emerging electrical and electronics industry. AM Radio and Tube technology were at the forefront, and big bands were on the rise with the first 78 RPM record player recordings. Television was not far off. GC Electronics has always kept pace with the times, changing with the times, migrating from tubes, transistors, integrated circuits to the microprocessor era. From the early days of telephones and radios to the Internet, GC Electronics has been serving the needs of electronics and electronic distributors for nearly 4 generations, and with the continued support of electrical and electronic distributors, GC Electronics will continue to serve future generations. To this day, the first part sold by General Cement, the 30-2, now known as the 10-302, remains a valuable GC Electronics part number.
