The RCA story begins with the advent of wireless communications made possible by the discovery of radio waves and amplification technology in the early 20th century. What started as wireless telegraphy, sending dots and dashes of wires through the air rather than through the sky, grew into voice, music, and eventually video transmission and reception over the air with the development of more sensitive transmission and reception equipment.
