State of the Art, Inc. was founded in 1969 as a consulting company specializing in thick film technology seminars as well as other consulting services. Manufacturing began in 1972 and quickly replaced the consulting business. In 1980, we developed the now industry standard nickel barrier layer that virtually eliminated solder leaching and intermetallic formation. In 1987, we became the first S-Class manufacturer to qualify for the MIL-PRF-55342 QPL standard, and today we continue to build product lines with the lowest failure rates in the world.
