RION
RION was established in 1944 in Kokubunji, Tokyo, to commercialize and utilize the research results of the Kobayashi Institute of Physics in society. The institute is currently a comprehensive corporate association conducting scientific and acoustic research. Our company name, RION, is a coined word that combines the first letters of the Japanese words "rigaku (science)" and "onkyogaku (acoustics)," the subject of our research. The company has a strong commitment to advancing science and technology and contributing to society. This is due to Yusuke Kobayashi, the founder of the Kobayashi Institute of Physics and the first president of RION. We have valued this tradition in our business over the years. We commercialize and provide the results of our unremitting efforts in technology development to society. Many of these results are firsts domestically or internationally. Today, our business focuses on four product groups covering the fields of healthcare, environment, and industry. They include hearing aids, medical devices, sound and vibration measurement instruments, and particle counters.
