The origins of the company began in 1967 in the town of Varshets, when a factory of electromagnetic chokes was opened. Equipped with German machines and using German technology, the plant produces a wide range of components for the lighting industry in addition to electromagnetic chokes. Since 2000 the company is a private joint stock company with 100% Bulgarian capital. The production was further modernized and automated again using German technology and equipment. Today Electrostart JSC is the only Bulgarian manufacturer of electromagnetic and electronic chokes, transformers, igniters and other components for fluorescent, metal halide, sodium, mercury and gas discharge lighting fixtures. Electrostart is a registered trademark in the European Union and in some countries in the Middle East, North Africa and South America. The company has a long-term presence in the markets of nearly 40 countries around the world, located in 4 geographical continents. The company ranks among the top five European producers by production volume.
