Comark
We were founded in 1961 and the name Comark is said to have come from the idea that products were designed for the "common market". We started with electronic measuring instruments, such as the 120S millivolt meter. In 1964, we produced our first electronic thermometer, the "Model 160". In the 1970s we achieved success with our 1600 Series electronic thermometers, and by the 1980s we began to focus on handheld digital thermometers. The 1980s also saw the development of some revolutionary instruments such as our first microprocessor thermometer, the C6000, and our Commander CRT multi-channel data logger. In 1989, Comark was acquired by the Kane May Group and in the same year we launched our C9000 series of waterproof digital thermometers. The 1990s started off in amazing fashion and we received ISO 9001 quality management system certification in 1991. In 1992 we began to turn our focus towards the food industry with the launch of a range of white C9000 waterproof digital thermometers and in 1994 more products aimed at food service and food production were produced and in the same year the C8800 multi-channel scanning thermometer was launched. In 1994, Comark Ltd/Inc was formed following the sale of the food division of Comark/Kane May and we gained UKAS accreditation for temperature measurement, enabling us to provide calibrations to industry standards. In 1997, our UKAS accreditation was further extended to include humidity measurement.
