Stieber
Founded in 1937 in Munich, Stieber is now a medium-sized company with 140 employees in Heidelberg and Garching near Munich. Stieber can reflect on numerous innovative developments in the companys history; innovations that have made it a leader in the European market. This competence was demonstrated, for example, during the development and design of the worlds largest backstop. Stieber is part of the Altra Industrial Motion Group and, together with its sister companies Formsprag and Marland in the United States, is the global market leader in overrunning clutches and backstops. Stieber can design and manufacture special products outside of standard procedures, depending on the customers wishes or application requirements. We can and have supplied units with torque capacities ranging from less than 1 Nm all the way up to 1,700,000 Nm. The latter represents the largest unit ever produced anywhere.
