KYOTO, Japan—OMRON Corporation (Headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; President and CEO: Yoshihito Yamada) today announced that it completed its acquisition of Microscan Systems, Inc. (“Microscan”) on February 2, 2017 (local time in the U.S.). (See announcement dated February 2, 2017) “OMRON acquires U.S. industrial code reader company Microscan Systems. Microscan, headquartered in Renton, Washington, manufactures and sells a wide range of industrial code reading equipment, including barcode readers and 2D code readers. Looking ahead, at the dawn of the IoT era, OMRON will strive to develop new code reading equipment and comprehensive solutions that combine OMRON Microscan Systems, Inc.’s software technology with OMRON’s extensive line of control components and equipment to provide stable reading performance even under demanding conditions. OMRON’s product lineup ranges from input devices to output devices, as well as industrial robots and safety equipment.
