Headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, LORD is a privately held company founded in 1924. Our Micro Strain Sensing Systems business, headquartered in Williston, Vermont, began in 1987. Our early development focus was on producing micro displacement sensors for strain measurement in biomechanical research applications. Our first sensor was designed for arthroscopic implantation into human knee ligaments; since then, we have expanded our product line through continuous product improvements and expanded our market reach.
