The BeagleBoard is a low-power, open-source single-board computer produced by Texas Instruments in collaboration with Digi-Key and Newark Corporation14. The BeagleBoard was designed with open-source software development in mind and as a way to demonstrate the Texas Instruments OMAP3530 system-on-chip[8]. The board was developed by a small team of engineers as an educational board that can be used in universities around the world to teach open-source hardware and software capabilities. It is also sold to the public under a Creative Commons license. The board was designed using Cadence OrCAD for schematic design and Cadence Allegro for PCB fabrication; no simulation software was used.
