Morningstar Semiconductor, a semiconductor company founded in Taiwan in 2002 and registered in the British Cayman Islands, is an international high-tech company focusing on chip research and development. The founder is Liang Gongwei, who was once an assistant manager of TSMC. In 2002, Liang Gongwei left TSMC and founded Morningstar Semiconductor with Yang Weiyi, Rong Tianxing, Shi Deli and others, with a capital of NT$100 million. Morningstar Semiconductor has many overlapping products with MediaTek, and is known as the "Little MediaTek". It is also called Big M and Little M together with MediaTek. The main product is LCD display control chip, and its global market share once exceeded 60%, about 100 million.
